WHEN ASEA RESEARCH BECAME PERSONAL FOR CINDY

EXPLORE THE RESEARCH

ASEA has commissioned research examining its REDOX product and cellular signaling. The studies below are provided for visitors who would like to examine the research for themselves.

                                                                   QUESTIONS YOU MAY BE ASKING

WHAT IS CELLULAR REDOX BALANCE?

Cells continuously balance oxidation and reduction reactions. Maintaining this dynamic balance—called redox homeostasis—is fundamental to normal cellular function.

HOW DO REDOX MOLECULES HELP CELLS COMMUNICATE?

Certain reactive molecules can act as signaling messengers, helping cells respond to changes in their environment.

AREN'T REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES HARMFUL?
Not necessarily. At controlled physiological levels, some reactive oxygen species perform important signaling functions. In excess, however, they can contribute to oxidative stress and cellular damage.

WHY DOES REDOX SIGNALING MATTER?

Redox regulation participates in metabolism, cellular responses, gene regulation, and many other processes essential to normal biology.

For Cindy Sawyer, the study of redox signaling was never simply an academic interest. It became deeply personal during her search for answers for her son, Van.

Testing had shown that Van had experienced significant deterioration of his myelin sheath—the protective covering surrounding nerve fibers. Cindy recalls being told that approximately 50 percent had been lost and that the damage could not be restored.

For a mother who had spent decades researching health and the body's ability to heal, that was not an answer Cindy was prepared to accept without continuing to search.

Her research eventually led her to redox signaling and ASEA. Cindy began having Van drink approximately 16 ounces of ASEA each day while also incorporating far-infrared sauna sessions into his routine.

What happened afterward became one of the defining experiences of Cindy's life and profoundly influenced the direction of her health research.

Follow-up testing at Johns Hopkins showed that Van's myelin sheath had been restored.

Cindy had been told that what had been lost could not regrow. Yet the before-and-after testing documented a remarkable change.

Because Van was using both ASEA and far-infrared sauna during this period, the experience by itself cannot establish which intervention—or combination of factors—was responsible for the improvement. But for Cindy, the experience demanded further investigation. It transformed redox signaling from an interesting area of science into something intensely personal.

Sadly, Van's improvement did not prove permanent. Today he lives in an independent assisted-living setting. Cindy would never suggest that one experience provides a cure or guarantees the same outcome for someone else.

But she has never forgotten what she witnessed.

It is one of the reasons she has continued studying cellular communication, redox biology, microcirculation, and emerging approaches to supporting the body's natural processes.

For Cindy, research is not about selling hope.   It is about continuing to ask what may be possible.

INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT ASEA?

Cindy's experience led her to continue studying redox signaling and ASEA. If you would like to learn more about ASEA products, their ingredients, or how they are used, you can explore the information available from ASEA directly.

Individual experiences do not guarantee similar results. ASEA products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
